Hello friends!
For some of you who have recently discovered Bushy Tailed Co, I would like to say welcome! And welcome to everyone else as well as this is the first time I've ever written a blog post - so we're just going to try this out and see how it goes!
Bushy Tailed Co is currently run by myself and my best friend and boyfriend, Cam. So, as you can see, we're still a very small business.
It all started with a simple thought: I wanted to do something to give back.
I started sketching out some designs for Fiddle the Fox and Wilbur the Bear. It was a little difficult trying to figure out how I wanted them to look and then figure out how to turn a 2D sketch into an actual stuffed toy. As I've never created stuffed animals before, it was an exciting new challenge.
I sketched the patterns out onto regular paper and then went from there. Every detail of whatever animal I was making was carefully thought out. Lots of trial and error to get the toy to look the way I wanted. I put a lot of care into creating each one. Everything is designed by me. Every piece is hand cut and sewn together by me. The corgi took four tries to get it to look the way I wanted. There are a few designs that I originally planned to release a while back but still haven't because I'm not 100% happy with it yet. Every toy was made with so much care because it was important to me to create something that I would want to buy. I didn't want to just create something just so I could sell it. It had to be special and done 100% by me.
I hope you love these toys as much as I do. They mean a lot to me. And the fact that we've gotten so much support for this brand brings me so much joy because as you probably know by now, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to various charities. If you take a look at our "Your Impact" page, you can keep track of the amount of money we've raised. We've set $1000 as our initial goal and we're almost half way!
We're very excited to be on this journey, and if you're reading this, we'd like to express our gratitude. Thank you for taking the time to even read this or showing any bit of interest. It really does mean the world.
